Before I arrive
Your document, complete and unsigned
I have to watch you sign it, so leave the signature line blank until I arrive.
A valid, current government photo ID
Driver's license, state ID, passport, military ID, or permanent resident card.
Every person who needs to sign
All signers must be present in person, each with their own ID.
Any witnesses the document requires
Let me know in advance if you need me to arrange them.
One thing I can't do: tell you which form to use or what to write on it. That's legal advice, and a notary is not permitted to give it. If you're unsure about the document itself, talk to an attorney first.
